Environmental Business Licensing

Projects and activities that require environmental permitting

According to DIPA / ec. 37674/2016 as in force, '' Amendment and codification of the ministerial decision 1958/2012 - Classification of public and private works and activities in categories and subcategories according to article 1 paragraph 4 of Law 4014 / 21.9.2011 (Government Gazette 209 / A / 2011) as it has been amended and is in force '', the companies that are included in the law are obliged to have an environmental permit and to comply with the conditions as they have been issued.

With ΥΑ 1958/12 (Government Gazette 21 / Β / 2012) all projects and activities for which environmental permitting is required have been classified into two categories: A (which is subdivided into subcategories A1 and A2) and B and 12 groups common to all categories. Subcategory A1 classifies projects and activities that may have a significant impact on the environment, while subcategory A2 classifies projects and activities that may have a significant impact on the environment. Category B includes projects and activities characterized by local and insignificant environmental impacts.

 

These groups are the following:

  1. Group 1: Land and air transport projects

  2. group 2: Hydraulic works

  3. Group 3: Port projects

  4. Group 4: Environmental infrastructure systems

  5. Group 5: Mining activities

  6. Group 6: Tourism facilities and urban regeneration projects, building sector, sports and leisure

  7. Group 7: Poultry farms

  8. Group 8: Aquaculture

  9. Group 9: Industrial and related facilities

  10. Group 10: Renewable energy sources

  11. Group 11: Transfer of energy, fuels and chemicals

  12. Group 12: Special projects and activities.
