Waste collection and transportation permit
According to Law 4685/2014 (Government Gazette A 92 - 07.05.2020) Modernization of environmental legislation, incorporation into Greek legislation of Directives 2018/844 and 2019/692 of the European Parliament and of the Council and other provisions, the following applies:
No permit is required for the collection and transport of non-hazardous waste . For organizations or companies that perform work of collection and transportation of non-hazardous waste on a professional basis, it is required:
registration and entry in the electronic register of waste (HMA) of article 42 of law 4042/2012, as in force, in accordance with the provisions of the joint ministerial decision no. 43942/4026/2016 (B '2992) as in force.
A necessary condition for the execution of the transport collection work is that the collector transporter has an insurance contract , which states that the insurance coverage concerns third parties and the restoration of the environment to the previous state in case of damage, amounting to at least one hundred thousand (100,000) euros per year. .

Can I transport waste?
The range of companies required to have a waste collection and transportation license, regardless of headquarters, is very large.
Examples include: Scrap management units, waste transport companies (paper, plastic, metal, nylon, etc.), companies that produce waste and dispose of it with their own means to the final recipient, Battery Collectors (Waste), Recyclable Collectors materials etc.
