Electronic Waste Register (HMA)

Waste Transportation-Waste Production-Waste Management

Every company / body-organization, which has an environmental license, is obliged to register in the Electronic Waste Register and to submit EEPA (Annual Waste Producer Report) at the end of the calendar year.

A few words about HMA

With article 42 of Law 4042/2012 (Government Gazette 24 / A / 13-02-2012), as amended by article 157 par. 1 of Law 4389/2016 (Government Gazette 94 / A / 27-05-2016 ), an Electronic Waste Register (HMA) was established for the systematic collection and processing of waste generation and management data. The K.Y.A. 43942/4026 (Government Gazette B '2992 / 19-09-2016) regulates the organization and operation of HMA and designates as responsible for the electronic registration and registration: Any organization or company whose facilities produce waste or carry out treatment waste, if they fall within the scope of Chapter A of Law 4014/2011 (A '209). Every organization or company, including local authorities, that collects or transports waste and has the obligation to have a permit for collection and transportation of waste, according to article 36, paragraph 4 of Law 4042/2012 (A '24).

Each First Degree Local Government Organization for the municipal waste that it produces and manages.

What are my obligations?

The body is obliged each year to submit to the Licensing Authority, Annual Waste Producer Report (EEPA) with data on the waste generated and / or managed during the previous year. The report must refer to both hazardous and non-hazardous waste.

  • Annual Report of Hazardous (Liquid and Solid) and Non-Hazardous Solid Waste Producer

  • Waste management within the Facility

  • Off-site waste management

  • Waste storage within the Facility (Temporary storage)

I want more information

According to the current legislation, if your company has a Decision approving environmental conditions, or Standard Environmental Commitments , ie companies with environmental licensing, are required to register in the system. Also, if your company has any environmental permitting related to waste, you are required to register with IMA and submit EEPA.
